French Course
The French classes take place in the morning and are given by qualified and experienced teachers. The teaching, which is personalised and motivating, is based on a modern and interactive teaching approach so that you will make progress without even realising it! ESL offers a standard course (20 lessons per week) or an intensive course (25 lessons per week). The standard course includes 4 lessons per day whilst the intensive course includes 1 extra lesson per day dedicated to conversation as well as listening and reading comprehension.
Communication course
In order to deal with real situations of everyday life, a specific communication course will allow you to learn to speak French with ease. This course takes place twice a week at the rate of 2x45 minutes.
One-to-one course
Ideal for making progress quickly, this course gives you the benefit on entirely personalised teaching. The teacher is at your entire disposal and will prepare a tailor-made programme for you. This course is given at a rate of 5 lessons of 45 minutes per week. (Little availability).
Please note: it is not possible to take a communication course and a one-to-one course lesson in the same week.

| With our course schedule, you can choose the number of lessons that you will attend each week depending on the goals you have set for yourself. You can combine more than one course during your stay, prepare for a DELF examination, or obtain another internationally recognised certificate at any time.
All our courses have been carefully structured with the aim of facilitating the development of communicative skills. Held in mini-groups with not more than 10 people, they are designed to meet your expectations and help you improve your current levels of skill, whether for personal, academic or business reasons. We offer courses at all the various levels, from beginners to advanced.
To help you get the maximum benefit from your course, you will sit a comprehensive assessment test when you arrive. This will help us place you in a class that is suitable for your level. We will then follow your progress and suggest a change of level if this becomes necessary.
If you are in two minds about which course to follow, or do not know which of the available exams best meets your needs, contact us so that we can advise you in the right direction.
In order to help you get the most out of the lessons, we will give you a thorough evaluation test as soon as you arrive. We will then be able to place you in a group that's perfectly adapted to your level. Your progress is then carefully monitored, and we will suggest class changes if we feel that this would be beneficial

| This small town on Lake Geneva is the pearl of the Swiss Riviera. Welcoming visitors from throughout the whole world has become a way of life for this charming place, which is home to just over 20,000 inhabitants. In summer the towns pulse quickens as a diverse and vibrant public from all over the world gets into the spirit of the famous jazz festival. In Montreux every season is wonderful. In the background the Alps form a magnificent panorama as well as being an all-year-round sports paradise. The school enjoys an ideal position in the centre of town, just a stones throw from the lake, which is a major attraction in itself, popular with people everywhere. The colourful, palm-lined lake promenade offers up countless treasures as you make your way along it: small coves suitable for bathing that are ideal for celebrations of every kind and where crowds of students and families gather on warm summer evenings, panoramic terraces and international restaurants, a conference centre whose cultural agenda could not be more international, and for history lovers an imposing 13th-century castle accessible by foot from the lakeside promenade. Major cities are also within easy reach. Lausanne and Geneva are just 20 minutes and an hour away respectively from Montreux.

The Riviera region also boasts amusement parks, museums, a wide choice of sports facilities, indoor and outdoor, mountain or water based, excursions on land and on water, concerts and cultural events of all kinds and to suit all tastes, as well as a multitude of other activities that you can discover by studying at Montreux.
In order to help you make the most of these leisure activities, we have an enormous amount of information on everything that's available in the area, and we are always on hand to help make bookings or with membership applications (e.g. for a health club)
In order to help you to discover Montreux, the Riviera and the surrounding area, we offer excursions and activities led by a member of the school staff once a week during the low season and twice during July and August. These include visits to the famous Château de Chillon, pleasure trips on the lake in one of the old-style paddleboats, or trips to the leisure centre and bowling alley. These activities take place at the beginning of the week and are not included in the course price.
 | Host family
| Students stay in a double room, shared with another participant. This accommodation option is one of the best ways to immerse yourself totally in the culture of the region. In this way, thanks to daily contact with the family, you will learn how to express yourself directly in French and to get to know the mentality and the way of life of the French-speaking Swiss.
Please note: this type of accommodation is best suited to independent students who will be able to get to the school on their own using public transport.
